About

NewLife Midwifery Services provides personalised midwifery care on the Mid North Coast of NSW empowering you to maintain ownership of your pregnancy, labour and birth and transition to parenthood. Care provided by Alyssea Kemp, an experienced midwife on the Mid North Coast.

Alyssea has been a Registered Midwife since 2007 and has practiced in many different clinical settings including 5 ½ years as a caseload midwife in Canberra and a stand-alone birth unit in Sydney. Having recently moved to the Mid North Coast of NSW, Alyssea now has a notation as an Eligible Midwife and is enjoying the transition to providing private midwifery care to women and their families.

Alyssea is compassionate, caring and committed to providing holistic, evidence-based woman-centred care to obtain the best possible outcomes for the women and babies that she cares for during pregnancy, labour, birth and the postnatal period. She believes in a woman’s body’s ability to conceive, grow, birth and breastfeed her baby, providing all of her baby’s nutritional requirements for the first 6 months of life, and continuing to provide nutrition as long as mother and baby wish to continue the breastfeeding relationship. As a midwife, Alyssea seeks to empower women to trust their bodies and to take responsibility for their preparation for and experience of pregnancy, birth and early parenting.

Alyssea believes in women’s God-given ability to birth and nourish babies. She is committed to providing care that supports this to the best of her ability, recognising that many women have risk factors and/or health concerns that impinge on that ability, and supporting women who experience such factors to receive the best possible and most appropriate care. However a woman’s birth journey unfolds, she is committed to support women to feel strong and confident through provision of a supportive, educational environment. Alyssea aims to empower women and their families to make informed decisions about their care, in order to birth in a way that strengthens them for their journey into parenthood.
